My abstract expressionist paintings usually begin with mark making using charcoals. I like to create bold strokes and gestures that engage my body. This will lead me to how I respond.
Building a painting with different tools is exciting. I want it to be raw and inviting.
Sometimes a painful emotion will reveal itself, leaving a dramatic impact on the canvas.
